I was lucky enough to have been raised in Malaysia, Australia, Holland, Germany, the UK and am now living in New York. Friends are convinced my dad was a spy, but mum’s the word on that. I speak German, tolerable French and Dutch, wish I spoke Mandarin, am an avid baker, storyteller, writer and a maker of jams. I know which fork to use and don’t chew gum in public. And, I love what I do.
SO WHAT DO I DO? I’m an award-winning Creative Director with experience in every category from fashion to pharma, soda to Snapple, sneakers to spirits and everything in-between, creating innovative work at agencies big and small from London to Beijing to San Francisco to Bozeman to New York City. For over 20 years I’ve been creating brand campaigns and experiences that delight consumers and deliver results for clients.
I love what I do. Ups and downs yes, but curiosity and creativity go into every brief, every solution, small to vast. I build rocket ships that might not fly and paper planes that reach the moon. It’s amazing. And it’s ok because I never stop learning, embracing uncertainty, laughing at myself and knowing something new is just around the corner.
I care about the creative integrity of the work and its effectiveness. I care about teaching, being a mentor and setting my teams up for success. Fluent in all marketing channels, I have the conceptual muscle to come up with the idea, the guts to champion it, the smarts to sell it, and the experience to make it work.
WHAT I DO BESIDES THIS CRAZY BUSINESS: When I’m not doing this, I write stories for kids, I’ve had a food truck, a baking company, a jam company and a greeting card company. I’ve ridden across Northern India on horseback to raise money for charity, I volunteer for the NYC Parks Department on horseback and give cooking lessons to my friends. I believe in the power of creating, of community and connectivity and above all, having fun and being proud of what I do and who I do it with.
